Pork Schnitzel with banana, cheese, and ham is an easy recipe for a quick dinner idea. Tender slices of pork are filled with cheese, ham and banana and then breaded, finally it is fried until golden and crunchy.
12 slices of pork, 3 to 5 mm thick, cut from the leg
prepared mustard to taste
6 slices ham
6 slices Cruyère cheese
2 bananas, sliced
10 ml lemon juice
100 ml cake flour
freshly ground black pepper to taste
3 ml salt
2 eggs, beaten
120 g (250 ml) dried breadcrumbs
cooking oil for frying
Flatten each slice of meat slightly with the palm of the hand, then spread each slice with mustard
Place ham, cheese and banana onto six slices of meat
Sprinkle lemon juice over and season with pepper
Place second slice of meat on top and secure with cocktail sticks
Season flour with salt and pepper
Coat meat with flour, then with beaten egg and finally with breadcrumbs
Place in refrigerator for at least 20 to 30 minutes to allow crumbs to set
Fry in heated cooking oil until golden brown and done on both sides
Drain on kitchen paper and serve immediately.
Mix 20 ml Parmesan cheese with the breadcrumbs.
Substitute pears for the bananas.
